Reminds me of Moonsong from Cave Story

The tone truly speaks the story your friend created, I'm sure your friend was happy to have a song like this on their project.
It's very well done and reminds of Cave Story and nice 2-D scrolling game, you should find and play it. It's free on the pc or you could cough up $10 on the Wii or DSi shops. Great job and keep it going.

All 4 Boss Battles in one!

This song indeed does portarys a tale which makes the past struggles seem like child's play....
It seems like the brave hero is faced with his greatest challenge...his 3 arch foes and his "equivilent"...his rival.
His outlook seems bleak as he's being pulverised by his opponents. Throughout the desperate struggle, he gathers his energy for one final offensive to rid this world of it's evil, it's tyrants, and his once good friend long ago....As the battle is reaching it's end and all thats now it's the rematch of all time..."the hero and the rival" His every fiber of his very being is put to the test in his final effort to best his rival...his once good friend.... As the battle is raging on, the intensity of this clash could be felt all around the world, shaking the planet to it's very core. As the world watches in excitment and terror, as their hero and his rival rush at each other for one final flurry of attacks and as they collide they create a blinding light of catacylsmic proportions, that showers the world leaving a desperate feeling as the outcome is unknown....for now...

Now on to my review...
This song really captures the past songs and blends them into a seemless smyphony. As you can see from my little interp there, this song really portarys a story which is much more than what i wrote. This is truly amazing!
Great Job!! Keep up the good work!

not a hard thing for anyone to remix in this style

Its so disapionting that you have FL 9 and all you do is mess with the EQ to make it sound like a cheap radio, added some distortion, then messed with the flanger to maybe 0.2Hz with a 7.0Hz frequency.....i heard your catalyst remix then i thought you had potential to do many more great remixes, but this sudden drop in quality of your work many seem replusive to some but, to me it seems like lazyness and no motivation at all.
I know my words may be harsh but, such drop in quality is something you should be critized for. Heed my advice of you are to make a new remix of this song:
1) don't use the song in it's full length without some kind of major remodel to it (if anybody could copy your work, it means you did try hard enough)
2) simple EQ, flanger, and distortion changes may work but in small amounts (not in large amounts, for it may cause unpleasant sensations for many people)
3) a remix should be unique and hard to copy (meaning no can just get what program you are using and copy your work and post it as their own, just causes too much drama...)
4) Most importantly, it must be catchy for everyone to like it, i know this style sure isn't my cup of tea, but i must give you credit for trying to do something most people don't realize how fun it is to make or remox music)
6) Have fun, if you are having fun while your making it, chances are the public will also see your talent and tell you so.
7) just for fun you probably didn't notice i skipped #5
8) chances are that you just checked and you probably laughing or irritated lol
Well i just hope this slaped some sense in to you and will do better in the future, ill keep an eye out for ya, intil next time dood!

Been a while since i heard something like this!

Reminds me of Chaoz Japan lol! I like it has a good beat and a nice retro feel to it makes me feel like im playing some ninja turtles or streets of rage. Keep up the good work Paragon 10/10 and 5/5

Quite the unique artist you are!

I've been listening to most of your songs for a long time now, you to seem a liking to the classical/orchestrated designs and yet the rebelious touch of the heart-pounding heavy metal. I believe that you could really pull off a very well done orchestrated score piece with incredible depth and harmonic, symphonic tones that sway the public's emotions. You know a song that creates/tells a story, each interpretation unique in its own way.

This song is an example of emotional scoring, a song that begins to tell a story unlike anyother with its very own purpose. It does feel like a calm night, with the fullmoon overhead, hanging up there nice and bright in the clear midnight skies. A cool breeze sweeping the garden, letting all of the aromas flow throughout the garden and plains beyond. It's very well done and I ask you to add to this song, by embellishing the piece with much more strings and maybe incorparate a flute or horn. This has a lot of potential to go even farther than one might think, for it's the artist to decide when his masterpiece is completed.

I've been on newgrounds for quite sometime and listened to many composers and score writers. I recommend you listens to Danman87 (Denny Schneidermesser), Soulus Lunes, and Milkman Dan, these are just a few composers whom I believe may inspire you to create some more great music. Anyways, excellent work on the this song I look foward to what yet has to come from you.

rtnario responds:

For one, you sure are correct with your description about what I like. I'm a metalhead, no doubt, but yes, I am very much interested in classical/orchestrated designs and of course I love the fusion of both!

I see, never thought that I'd ever consider one of my random classical pieces as emotional scoring...see, I actually make things like these on a whim, when I'm not up to going back and making something loud. But it doesn't mean I don't give my all into making sure the melodies are special and give more emotion and feel than most of my metal video game remixes. The ability to do that in these designs is what makes me all the more curious with an interest completely different from my interest in metal.

As to adding to the piece, yes, who knows? Maybe someday I'll turn this into something even more grand way in the future, but as it stands it's pretty great for me and it's something I consider to be one of the best classical pieces I've ever written, ever. I'll keep that suggestion in mind for things to come!

And yeah, I've been pretty inactive around Newgrounds thanks to being busy in real life, but I'll make some time to find some inspiration for myself and my classical side :) Thank you!

Respectable

I have to say this remix of Running Hell is good and has its own uniqueness, but if you could make it slightly seem more retro, rather than the repetitive drum beat and clap in the background. It's too harsh for the main melody to compliment it and kinda ruins it for me, but good job, but there's always room for improvment like with any song.

Wow on the top scoring again even after 7 years

Just amazing.....I remember, I listened to this way back like 6 years ago. I awlays thought to myself if the gameboy could play those lyrics I think the poor little thing would explode the cartridge then its mono speaker :'( Good job even after all this time to make the top 50 again lol. I'm big fan of FFVII and glad to find this song again to download. 5/5 10/10 and Fav'd!

Nice!

I remember having the midi and listening to it non stop and i find a pretty good equilivent to the original midi. If you would remaster not "remix" this song you should add some snare drums and tone down the electrical and only use piano with nice heavy and dark tone.
P.S. Enhancing the strings to something sharper and more frantic like would give this a very creepy theme.
Good Job!! 10/10 5/5

Thanks n_n
Hope you enjoy my other works here on NG.
Take Care

Pretty good!

I Like the flow of the song, and i see you have kept your somewhat repetive habits to a minimum, which is a big improvement from what i used listen to a couple years back.Indeed time has sharpened your skills and you are using them for more unique purposes. Also, I think it wouldn't hurt to add some different tones in the mix like some piano or some strings, but i do like the 8-bit feel i can't say anything bad about that. However I do believe the percussion could be spiced up if you either way if you could make them heavier or flater to compliment some of the simpler tunes and tones. Overall, the remix is well done, nice job on combining 4 songs into a nice upbeat remix. Keep up the good work, look foward for hearing some new work soon.

ganon95 responds:

thanks!

im currently in the middle of making part 3 and its turning out pretty sweet so far.

i agree that its not very repetitive, even considering its 12 mins long, i am very satisfied with that outcome.

there will be piano in part 3 and part 1 did actually have a little bit of piano too so you should check that out :)

Nice mix!

I like it, but there some things you should've added, for starters you should listen to the "New Divide [Live]" from The Catalyst album. The vocals are much more crisp, and you should include some drum and bass to it to give some heaviness. Overall, I like it and keep up the good work.

Just your average guy, do what I do best, which is draw and make music (not posting music here) only art. Since my silly youth has matured im a full fledged craftsman, and expert technician!
